The future of art is changing, with AI-generated art gaining more attention from collectors and enthusiasts. According to the first Hiscox Art and AI Report, 40% of art collectors believe AI-generated art sales will grow, especially as new buyers embrace the trend. Platforms like DALL·E and Midjourney are fuelling this rise, with AI-generated art now appearing as NFTs and physical pieces. However, the debate rages on: is AI creativity comparable to human ingenuity?
While some collectors are eager to explore this new frontier, traditionalists remain sceptical. Only 16% of seasoned collectors believe AI-generated art will achieve the same value as human-created works. And 82% want clearer distinctions between man-made and AI-generated art.
Yet, despite the concerns, AI-generated art is carving out its place in the market, sparking questions about fair use, ownership, and the nature of creativity itself. Are we witnessing the dawn of a harmonious future for art and AI?
Only time will tell.
