Hamilton, Bermuda (30 May 2023) – Hiscox Ltd (LSE:HSX), the international specialist insurer, today announces the appointment of Jonathan Bloomer as Chair designate, subject to regulatory approval. Jonathan will join the Board as Chair designate on 1 June 2023, succeeding Robert Childs who will retire on 1 July 2023. Jonathan has a wealth of experience leading financial services organisations. He was a Partner at Arthur Andersen before joining Prudential plc in 1995, initially as CFO and then taking the role of CEO from 2000 to 2005. His final executive role was as an Operating Partner at Cerberus. A seasoned board director, Jonathan is currently serving as Chair of Morgan Stanley International, DWF Group plc and SDL Group Holdings Limited.

Jonathan Bloomer became a partner at Arthur Andersen before going on to become CFO and then CEO of FTSE 100 Prudential plc. Following this, he was an operating partner at Cerberus Capital Management, the US private equity and alternative investor, which he held between 2006 and 2012. Since 2012 Jonathan has pursued a successful portfolio career, with a range of largely financial services companies.
