Utrecht, 2004

John Riddy’s photographs focus on landscapes, cities, and architecture and are often completely depopulated. Utrecht, 2004 shows the interior of a Bauhaus-designed home, complete with modernist furniture and accents in red, yellow, black, white, and blue. Riddy’s framed the image in such a way that the architectural lines and planes of colour are organised and aligned with the same rigour as a modernist painting.
