Hamilton, Bermuda, (16 October, 2014) – Hiscox Re has made two senior appointments with Bevis Tetlow appointed to a new role as Chair of North America and Caribbean, and Philip Vandoninck also to a new role of Chair of International.
Bevis Tetlow, who is based in Bermuda, joined Hiscox in 2005 and has previously had roles at Risk Management Solutions as well as an independent consultant. Philip Vandoninck, also based in Bermuda, joined Hiscox Belgium in 2004 underwriting high value household and fine art, before moving on to Hiscox’s office in London underwriting non-marine treaty reinsurance. In 2005, Philip moved to Hiscox’s newly opened Bermuda office to help set up its reinsurance operations.
Both roles, covering strategy across Hiscox Re’s platforms in Bermuda, London and Paris, will report to Hiscox Re’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Mike Krefta, and will help to further ensure the business brings the best of its expertise and experience to the benefit of its clients and brokers.
Commenting on the appointments, Mike Krefta said: “Since the formation of Hiscox Re at the beginning of this year, we’ve been working hard to build and evolve our organisation to meet the needs of our clients and brokers in a challenging market. As part of their new roles, Philip and Bevis will manage underwriting strategy for their respective areas across our underwriting platforms in Bermuda, London and Paris - ensuring we continue to offer a responsive, coordinated, and consistent offering to our brokers and clients.”
